Providing collaborative support to educators/group leaders. Childcare/light cleaning/tidying duties.
The role
Providing childcare and supporting educational work in the setting (in consultation with the educator in charge)
- Homework supervision
- Creative activities (play, crafts, making music, etc.)
- Leading/supervising physical activities (play, gymnastics, games etc.)
- Supervising visits to exhibitions and theatre performances
- Co-creating educational work in the setting
- Implementing our educational standards
- Creating a favourable learning environment
- Individual support for each child as a whole person, in accordance with their strengths
Maintaining the setting:
- Cleaning and care of play and activity materials
- Keeping the setting clean and tidy
- Preparing snack for the children
- Working in a team:
- Assisting with educational work within the setting
- Attending staff meetings
Operational responsibilities (in consultation with the educator in charge and the management):
Knowledge of the legal framework of your role/acquiring this knowledge from headteacher where required
- Providing cover for other staff members in cases of illness, annual leave, training
- Sharing in responsibility for the safety, hygiene, good order of the facility
- Awareness of emergency plan (see concept)
- Supervision and child safeguarding duties
- General duties arising from the role/your contract of employment (covering opening hours, maintaining confidentiality, reporting absence as soon as is practicable)
Working with headteacher, educators and other colleagues:
- Acting as a first point of contact for the educator in charge as regards educational and organisational work in the after-school setting
- Reporting to the educator in charge on important matters concerning the setting
- Arranging trips and events to an appropriate timescale
- Immediate reporting of damage to and technical issues with the buildings, equipment, etc.
- Carrying out the instructions of the educator in charge
- Informing the educator in charge of suspected cases of communicable diseases
Communicating and working with parents in consultation with the educator in charge, the headteacher, and your other colleagues
- Responsible participation in the planning of parent events, celebrations, etc.
- Informing parents of significant incidents concerning their children

- Skills in working with children; relevant additional training desired
- Enthusiasm, a sense of responsibility, ability to work under pressure, organisational skills
- At least CEFR level B2 in written and spoken German
- Member of the Roman Catholic Church/practising Roman Catholic
Salary
in accordance with the corresponding wage scale
