FAQ’s

You have got questions?

We have answered a broad range of questions about us on our FAQ page.

  1. Public funds: Stella International School is recognised by the Archdiocese of Vienna as a Catholic school and our teaching positions are therefore publicly funded.
  2. Tuition fees, set at a moderate level to enable a broad range of families to access the education we provide.
  3. Donations: As a private school, Stella is responsible for funding all our infrastructure and additional staff and supplementary services. We also offer scholarships to the end of widening access to our schools. We rely on donations from our community of supporters to meet these expenses.

You don’t have to be Catholic – Stella is for everyone. We welcome children and young people of all nationalities, all faiths and none. Our school community is a supportive space, engaged with the world, that seeks to include a child’s whole family in her or his educational journey. If you identify with our educational approach and our values and would like to work with us on this basis, we will be delighted to welcome you.

Stella International School is a Catholic school recognised by the Archdiocese of Vienna. Some of its initiators are members of Opus Dei and seek, in their work in Stella, to model the development of a personal relationship with God in everyday life and to engage with society.

The school operates in accordance with the Austrian curriculum and is responsible to the Directorate of Education for Vienna and, as a Catholic school, to the Office for Schools and Education of the Archdiocese of Vienna. The school is awarded the “public right” annualy, and is due, after some time, to receive permanent recognition on this basis. Stella International School works closely and actively with state education authorities and all other actors within Austria’s education system.

For organisational reasons, it is best if you donate for a specific purpose. This way we can use your donation exactly where we need it most – for the equipment of a new classroom, for the payment of a native speaker assistant, for the scholarship fund … If it is important to you that your donation is used for a very specific purpose, please let us know. We will then – if possible – use it according to your wishes.

We use unrestricted donations where we need them most at the moment – to equip a new classroom, to pay for a native speaker specialist assistant, for the scholarship fund, etc.

Yes, that is possible. We can always use very specific donations in kind, e.g. to equip our classrooms, didactic materials, etc. Please contact us so that you do not go to unnecessary trouble with donations in kind that we cannot currently use.

Yes, online donations are secure. The software for processing our online donations is hosted in a German data centre. Your sensitive donor data is transmitted exclusively via secure SSL encryption. This guarantees that the highest standards of security and data protection are met.

Unfortunately not yet. In Austria, only a few institutions are recognised with their activities as a “donation-privileged purpose”, such as scientific research and teaching, direct charity, development and/or disaster relief, environmental protection, nature conservation and species protection, animal shelters or artistic activities and presentation of works of art by art and cultural institutions.

However, if you conclude a sponsorship agreement with us that is associated with an advertising value, this is very much tax-deductible (financing of events, advertising in our media, etc.).

We are particularly pleased about permanent donations, for example a monthly standing order or the setting up of a regular SEPA direct debit. This is because regular donations allow us to plan more reliably and cause little administrative work. You can terminate your standing donation at any time and without giving reasons.

Would you like to support us?

Stella International School came into being on the initiative of a group of committed parents. We seek to provide a cosmopolitan education centred on values that will enable young people to forge the society of tomorrow. Public funds cannot cover the crucial extra support, inspiration, resources and activities a Stella education gives.

For this reason, we ask you to please support us with your donation!
